Here you'll find the artistic projects Reena has curated throughout her BA Performance Art undergraduate degree at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and professional industry world. With her practice situated within ecodramaturgy, literature and embodied performance, the connection to the natural world is everpresent. Situated within themes of mental health, theatre activism and the climate crisis. As a performance maker, she has taken on varied roles within projects such as a performer, director, writer, choreographer and artist; working with the theme of intimacy, nature and connection. Often entwining these practices to deepen the political messaging and the power of theatre activism.
Calastine is a short novel stage adaptation inspired by the article, “What Earth might look like in 80 years if we're lucky — and if we're not.” It is a dystopian world, set in 2,100. In this future, the surface of Earth is no longer habitable due the catastrophic effects from the Climate Emergency. This fictional world is an intimate exploration of a monumental problem that requires urgent attention, written from the perspective of a 17-year-old female protagonist, Milia.
A short collection of climate poems titled ‘ELEGY FOR NATURE’ inspired by feelings of anxiety caused by a deep concern for Earth’s biological existence.
